a chill and drizzly day in san francisco. i arrived yesterday afternoon accompanied by a stinking cold. today i haven't set foot outside warren's house even once. by lying low through the weekend, chomping my way through a bag of sanguinelle from the local organic grocery and glugging wild cherry bark and echinacea syrup i'm hoping i'll recover in time for the unremitting chain of meetings that commences monday.
i started feeling off-colour early in the week. by wednesday i had a high fever and my field of vision was fizzing interestingly. timur did a marvelous florence nightingale act, arriving at the door with a bag of goodies which he converted into a pint of garlic-spiked citrus juice. the combination of flavours was so unexpected it completely failed to register on the pleasant-unpleasant spectrum. it did me a power of good though and the next day i crawled into work. that was the last time i'll see trampoline in its current offices. by the time i return from america the company will be elsewhere and the building on leonard street will have begun its conversion into yuppie flats.
